ALEKS Quiz Info for In-Person Students
You are going to ALEKS PPL assessment which will consist of about 30 questions. You will have 2 hours to complete it.
ALEKS is an online tool for assessing precalculus content knowledge. The ALEKS tool is adaptive, which means that the questions you are asked are determined, in part, by your answers to previous questions.
The reason you are taking this assessment is to help you have a better sense of your strengths and areas for improvement. The assessment will also help the Calculus I teaching team (instructors and TA’s) have a better understanding of how to provide extra support.
For in-person sections, taking the ALEKS assessment replaces the Tuesday, September 1st Recitation.
Dates and Locations for in-person sections
- Complete your ALEKS PPL assessment on during the second week of the semester. Each student will need to sign up for and take a 2-hour proctored ALEKS assessment in the testing center on the 6th floor of the Rasmuson Library. To sign up:
-
In click “RegisterBlast Test Scheduling” in Canvas. You will need to be logged in with your UAF credentials.
-
In Step 1 “Choose exam group”, select UAF Course Proctored Exams - Fall 2026.
-
In Step 2 “Select your course”, select Fall 2026 Math F251X 901 - Calculus I (CRN 73198). Note: Even if you are in section 902 or 903, you need to choose 901 because that is the generic in-person Calculus Canvas course. Do not choose 001 because that is for asynchronous students only!
-
In Step 3 “Choose an exam”, select Proctored ALEKS assessment - J. Gossell. This is for all in-person students regardless of your instructor. The remainder of the form will ask you to choose a time and date for your assessment as well as some basic information about yourself. In-person students may take ALEKS any day this week (August 31 - September 4). Once completed, you will get a confirmation screen and an email confirmation.
Dates and sign-up for online sections
